About Canopy Kings llc
Our roots have always been local!
Owners Terica and Dan McConnell with our 3 kids: Trevor, Ella and Layla, have been in the tree service business for the past 6 years. Terica grew up in a logging family and Dan has had a chainsaw in his hands since he was 12 years old.
More about Dan, our tree service expert: He spent 15 years building bridges as a union carpenter; that experience made the transition into trees much easier because of the simulators in equipment, rigging, heights and hard work.
He has spent the last 5 years in business not only running Canopy Kings tree service but also working a full time job building highway and railroad bridges. He is not afraid of hard work! As of 2020, he decided to dedicated 100% of his time to trees.
Dan takes pride in being the best at what he does, no matter what it is, and it definitely shows in his tree service work! Coming from a small community we understand the value of a good name and we take extreme pride in each and every job we do. Currently boasting a 100% satisfaction rate, we intend on keeping every customer as a return customer that couldn’t be happier with Canopy Kings.

Proper tree trimming and pruning is not only a science but an art. Tree trimming is critical to sustaining your trees health, stimulating growth and appearance
Tree Removal
An unhealthy tree might not 'appear’ to be a danger to your property, so we are here to help you determine if it’s time to remove your tree(s) or if there’s a chance for them to be saved.
If you spot any of these symptoms, it's time to call a professional:
Decay-producing fungi growing at the base of the trunk
Chipped or peeling bark and cracks in the trunk
Cavities in the trunk or large scaffold branches
Dead or hanging branches in the upper crown
Removing a tree on your own can be dangerous, to both you and your property, THAT’S WHY WE ARE HERE!
Tree Pruning
There are several reasons for tree pruning:
1) AESTHETICS: Pruning a tree effectively helps maintain shape and appearance so that the natural beauty of your property is enhanced.
2) SAFETY: Dead or broken branches or limbs can fall off anytime which is a serious safety hazard for physical injury or property destruction. If branches obstruct your vision while driving they should also be trimmed back or removed.
3) HEALTH: Proper and professional pruning is essential to the health of your trees, and it is often possible to save an infected tree by strategically trimming away affected branches and limbs.
TREE TRIMMING services explained
CROWN CLEANING is the most basic level of tree pruning and includes the removal of dead, dying, diseased and broken branches.
CROWN THINNING is a selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown of the tree. Crown thinning opens up the foliage of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs and helps retain the tree’s natural shape.
CROWN RAISING consists of pruning or removing lower branches or limbs to provide vertical clearance. Distances from objects to be cleared, or heights above ground level lets the pruning arborist know how much of the lower canopy or how many lower branches need to be pruned from the tree. Crown raising might be done on the entire bottom of the crown or only one portion of the crown.
CROWN REDUCTION is used to clear tree branches from objects such as buildings, signs or lights. Crown reduction pruning is also utilized to reduce the canopy of the tree in an effort to decrease the height and/or spread of the canopy. Branch tips are cut back to lateral branches that can take over as the terminal point of growth.
VISTA PRUNING is removing branches to improve the view of scenery or an object from a predetermined standpoint. Vista pruning might involve removing whole branches or it could require thinning, or maybe over-thinning, a selected portion of the tree canopy.
